Our Leadership
 Paul Parsons is founder and President of Energy Training Resources, LLC. Paul has worked in the oil patch for 27 years. He started
his career working 3 years as a business analyst for the world's
largest oilfield equipment supplier. Thereafter, he joined one of the
largest U.S. independent oil and gas companies where he worked in a
progression of financial-related positions. He spent his last seven
years as the chief financial officer of that company’s largest business
unit. Paul has worked in both domestic and international environments
and has worked at various company levels from headquarters to field
operations. Paul has also networked across company lines as a long-time
member of the Upstream Accounting Subcommittee of the American
Petroleum Institute. He was Chairman of that subcommittee from
2005-2007.
Paul
has a BBA in accounting from the University of Texas at Austin, an MBA
from the University of Houston, and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Paul has always been a strong believer in employee development and has
obtained additional certifications including Accredited Petroleum
Accountant (COPAS program), Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and
Certified Treasury Professional (CTP). Paul has also served on the
COPAS Board of Examiners that oversees the Accredited Petroleum
Accountant program. Paul started Energy Training Resources because he feels it is important for industry participants to be familiar with the broad scope of issues and activities that interact with their own job responsibilities. Our programs are designed to deliver an insightful and lasting impression for a minimal time commitment of one to two days.
